A picture of the Mona Lisa from 330 Rubik & # 39; s Cubes is sold in Paris, right next to the original by Leonardo da Vinci.

The work of the French city artist Invader from 2005 should bring in the auction for modern art up to 150,000 euros (1.17.97.365 rupees), the organizer Artcurial announced on Monday.

It uses the squares of plastic puzzles to create a mosaic of the Mona Lisa and her famous smile in bright colors.

"You hardly have to see the details. You know it is the Mona Lisa simply because of its position, composition and magic," said Arnaud Oliveux, head of Artcurial's municipal art department.

The auction on February 23 coincides with a blockbuster exhibition by Leonardo da Vinci in the nearby Louvre, home of the real Mona Lisa.

This show marks the 500th anniversary of the death of the Renaissance master.
