Aside from Google's own apps, dark mode itself has become a popular feature, and we've seen it find its way to Instagram and Facebook Messenger. Nevertheless, there are still some apps that have not yet dedicated themselves to the dark topic. WhatsApp is still in the testing phase, while Facebook is reportedly working to make it available to its users. According to a recent report, Facebook Lite users could get their hands on the darker user interface in front of the main app

The report says that many Facebook Lite users have already seen the dark mode toggle, which is easily accessible through the Settings menu. Facebook Lite is specifically designed for consumers who have a slow internet connection or who need to use an older or low-end device. As the name suggests, this app is around 1.6MB in size, which is comparatively less than the main app, which is around 50MB in size. The Facebook family also has a lighter version for their messenger app. The welcome change was seen in the stable version (version 181) of the Lightweight app, while version 186 is available on the Google Play Store.

News of the change came in January, but a broader rollout has begun and users in India may see the feature soon. However, users of the main Facebook app may have to wait a little longer for them to go dark.
