There are some photos circulating on the Internet that show a man beating up a police officer on the street. This is alleged to be the result of police atrocities committed against people during the ban. Users also ask police officers to understand the helplessness of citizens.

The photos are three years old and have nothing to do with the blocking of the corona virus.

In the midst of the 21-day nationwide Covid-19 ban, several videos and pictures have appeared on social media in which police officers beat up civilians to force them into the house.

Now there are some photos circulating on the Internet that show a man beating up a police officer on the street. This is alleged to be the result of police atrocities committed against people during the ban. Users also ask police officers to understand the helplessness of citizens.

India Today’s Anti-Fake News War Room (AFWA) has found the viral post to be misleading. The photos are three years old and have nothing to do with the blocking of the corona virus.

Among other things, Facebook user “Devendra Shukla Amethi” shared the misleading post, which had been shared more than 350 times until the story was submitted.

In the reverse search, we found that the viral images were used in a “Daily Mail” article in June 2017. The report says these pictures were taken when an angry mob stirred up and attacked police officers after a teenage schoolgirl was reportedly raped at a hospital in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

We also found these images in a report from “The Sun” with the same information.

It is therefore clear that three-year-old images are shared on social media as a dispute between the police and civilians during the ongoing ban.
