Panaji: Goa chief Pramod Sawant said on Friday that he had received about 400 suggestions from people for the upcoming 2020-21 state budget. On January 28, a website was launched asking people to write Sawant about their expectations and budget proposals. The budget will be presented on February 6 during the session of the State Assembly.
"I am pleased to announce that we received at least 395 suggestions and ideas during this first online exercise on Goa Budget 2020-21," he said. Most of the proposals were received in the education sector, followed by administration and governance, transport, public works and health.
"It is encouraging to see that most of these contributions are thorough and I thank everyone for participating," said the Prime Minister. Sawant affirmed that the exercise would be carried out on a larger scale in the future to improve public engagement for "better governance and a better Goa".
