Google offers users a new function for comparing and charging mobile phone plans

New Delhi: Google introduced a new feature on Tuesday that enables Indian users to find, compare and top up prepaid rates using Google search.

As of this Tuesday, users can use Google Search to search for rates, compare discounts and offers through multiple mobile operators, and top up these rates with payment.

This search feature is currently available to users who have signed in with their Android devices and are assembling prepaid service plans from Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, Jio and BSNL across India.

On the search results page, users have to enter their details in a short form to display a list of available prepaid tariffs from the respective provider.

To top up a SIM card, simply select a tariff to view the various top-up offers from providers of mobile payment services such as Mobikwik, Paytm, FreeCharge and Google Pay.

Users can pay via the service provider's website or app using a mobile wallet or payment service of their choice. The top-up confirmation page also helps users enter relevant customer support information.

There are approximately 1.1 billion cellular connections in India, approximately 95 percent of which include prepaid SIM cards.

Prepaid cellphone subscribers can charge their cellphones in various ways. This service can also be used to top up someone else's prepaid plan.
