Honor 9X and Oppo F15 India as well as Republic Day sales from Amazon and Flipkart dominated the news this week. Both Amazon Sale and Flipkart Sale will continue next week to offer discounts and deals to consumers. Honor 9X is a dual SIM smartphone that runs Android 9 Pie with the custom EMUI 9.1 skin. It has a 6.59-inch Full HD + display (1080 x 2340 pixels), HiSilicon Kirin 710F SoC, up to 6 GB RAM and 128 GB built-in memory, which has a microSD card (up to 512 GB ) can be expanded. Oppo F15 India Launch: price, specifications
Oppo F15 is the latest smartphone that was added to the portfolio of Chinese smartphone manufacturer India this week. The Oppo F15 is aimed at young consumers and is offered in only one storage variant with a price of Rs. 19,990. According to the company, consumers will be able to buy the phone from all major smartphone retailers in the country starting January 24, including e-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart. Oppo F15 is available in the colors Lightning Black and Unicorn White.
Oppo F15 is a dual SIM smartphone running Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1.2. Amazon and Flipkart, two of India's largest e-retailers, do their sales before Republic Day. Rollout for Realme 3 Pro Android 10 updates
Realme started this week with the launch of Android 10 with the Realme UI update for its Realme 3 Pro smartphone. The Realme 3 Pro is one of the first Realme phones to have received the Android 10 update. As for the changelog, the update brings, among other things, a revision of the design, optimized game space, new background images, improved smart sidebar and camera optimizations. In addition, Realme 3 Pro users can now share files with Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi phones using the Realme Share feature. This cross-brand file sharing feature is now available on certain Xiaomi phones and Oppo phones running Android 10-ColorOS 7 and will soon be available on Vivo phones as well.
The Realme 3 Pro update for Android 10 has the version number RMX1851EX_11_C.01 and is now being introduced step by step. In other smartphone news, three phones got a discount this week – Samsung Galaxy A20s, Vivo Z1 Pro, and Vivo Z1X. Speaking of Galaxy A20s first, Samsung Galaxy A20s 3GB RAM + 323GB storage option is now at Rs. 10,999 in India. The original price of the model was Rs. 11,999. Samsung has not revised the price of 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant. The Samsung Galaxy A20 runs on Android 9 Pie and has a 6.5-inch HD + Infinity-V display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC and a 4,000 mAh battery.
Regarding Vivo phones, the price of Vivo Z1 Pro in India has been reduced to Rs. 12,990 for the base 4 GB RAM + 64 GB memory variant. Vivo Z1 Pro 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model has also received a price cut from Rs. 1,000 and is available at Rs. 13,990, down from case 14,990. On the other hand, the Vivo Z1x price in India has dropped to Rs. 14,990 for the 4 GB RAM + 128 GB memory variant. It was previously available at Rs. 15,990. Telecommunications news: Jio subscribers, new prepaid tariffs from Vodafone, BSNL tariff revisions
As part of its quarterly results, Reliance announced this week that Jio now has 370 million subscribers. The company also announced that it had 37.1 million subscribers in the quarter ended December 31. Jio also notes that it has gained 135.7 million subscribers throughout the previous year. Reliance Jio's total subscriber growth was 32.1 percent quarter on quarter. In other words, Jio's total wireless traffic for the period was 12.08 billion gigabytes (GB), compared to 12.02 billion GB in the previous quarter, and growth of 39.9 percent year-on-year based on average data usage per Users per year month from 11.1 GB to 11.7 GB in the previous quarter.
Vodafone has launched two new prepaid plans at Rs. 99 and Rs. 555. Both new prepaid tariffs are currently limited to certain groups and are bundled with advantages such as unlimited voice calls and fast data allocation as well as free subscription to services such as Zee5. While the Rs. 99 Vodafone prepaid plan is believed to be an optimized version of its previous Rs. 149 plan, the Rs. 555 prepaid plan appears to be an update of the previously offered Rs. 598 option.
State telecommunications operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) revised three of its prepaid top-up plans this week. Rs. 74, Rs. 75 and Rs. 153 BSNL prepaid plans are now of reduced validity. The plans used to be valid for 180 days. All three prepaid top-up plans now run for only 90 days. Although BSNL has reduced the validity, the benefits of each plan remain unchanged.

In other news, WhatsApp released a few beta version updates for Android – versions 2.20.8 and 2.20.10 this week. These updates contain only one change for users – sticker pack updates. However, they also indicate that Facebook's chat service has improved the dark subject. In addition, WhatsApp seems to be working on animated sticker support, which is currently missing.
OnePlus officially announced this week its 120 Hz fluid display technology, which includes a special MEMC motion compensation chip and a touch sampling rate. The new OnePlus Fluid Display technology also offers 10-bit HDR support and automatic brightness control at 4096 level via a brand new environmental sensor. The 120 Hz fluid display technology is supported by an RGB color temperature sensor with a rating of 0.8 JNCD (Just Noticeable Color Difference). This is touted as less than the JNCD rating available for the iPhone 11 Pro Max display.
In addition to Honor 9X, Magic Watch 2 and Band 5i, Honor also launched the Honor Sport and Honor Sport Pro Bluetooth headphones in India this week. Honor Sport Bluetooth headphones were priced at Rs. 1.999 and is offered in the colors Aurora Blue, Flame Red and Midnight Black. On the other hand, Honor Sport Pro Bluetooth headphones have a price tag of Rs. 3,999 and will be available in the colors Phantom Red, Phantom Gray and Phantom Purple. No sales date is currently set.
Honor India President Charles Peng also announced in an interview with Gadgets 360 that the company will bring its MagicBook family of Windows 10 laptops and Honor Vision Smart TV to India. The laptops and smart TV are expected to arrive in the first or second quarter of this year. There is currently no word on prices in India for any of the devices.
