Transformation of the day: Jessica lost 66 pounds. She lost 105 pounds and kept the weight off. Later, she became pregnant with her daughter and regained more than half of the weight she lost. By exercising at home and changing his eating and drinking habits, he returned to normal.
I was featured on their website earlier for my 105 pound weight loss journey. I kept the weight off for a long time but lost control when I became pregnant with my daughter. I gained 65 pounds! Now, I am happy to say that I have lost all the baby’s weight and continue my health journey. I wanted to give an official update.
What was your motivation for this phase of your journey? What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
My motivation has been to get to a better place, not only physically but mentally. I can’t be the mother I want to be if I’m not in a good mental place. Exercising and eating healthy allows me the “autotherapy” that I need to be the best version of mom.
How did you change your eating habits?
When I was pregnant, I ate ALL the carbs, especially at night. It was as if he was storing food for hibernation! I gave in to all cravings instead of stopping and drinking water. Most of the time, he was probably thirsty, not hungry!
I started my postpartum journey as a Beachbody Coach. I lost 105 pounds before the baby, so I knew what to do. After the baby, I started training, and I made water and ate a lot of non-negotiable vegetables.
I followed a nutrition program called 2B mindset by Ilana Mulstein. She is a new addition to the Beach body team and created a nutrition program that is amazing (with an emphasis on vegetables and water).
Tell us about your exercise routine.
I honestly worked 6-7 times a week! Even my yoga days are something. I followed several different training programs offered by Beachbody, one after another. I started with just 30 minutes a day, seven days a week, with two days of active rest. Every morning I would wake up at 4 in the morning. Before I had to mommy and wife, he loved me. I still wake up at 4 AM to exercise!
I did the 21 Day Fix program and 21 Day Fix Extreme. I followed those with him 100 Morning Thaw. Recently finished The preparation and The play programs I’m currently doing a new Beach body program called 10 rounds. No matter what program you are doing, what matters is discipline and consistency. I’m a coach of responsibility groups, which really helps me stay on top of my game.
I also used my Platoon gear! I have the spinning bike and the treadmill. I use them about five times a week.
What was your initial weight? what is your current weight
My starting weight was 225 pounds, and my current weight is 159.4 pounds.
How tall are you?
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
May 2019 and counting. It’s been 11 months since I officially started my postpartum journey. It took me about a year to lose 105 pounds the first time I was on a weight loss trip.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
What is the greatest lesson you have learned?
“I time” is essential. It allows me to be a better everything for everyone. Self love is not selfish!
What advice do you have for other people who want to lose weight?
Do not give up. Become a non-negotiable. Don’t cancel meetings with your boss, so don’t cancel your training sessions with yourself.
