Transformation of the day: Jomira lost 104 pounds. She was self-conscious, couldn’t keep up with her young son, and felt that the pounds were hampering her on a daily basis. By maintaining a calorie deficit, exercising, and being patient, she has transformed.
What was your motivation?
My motivation for starting this journey was the fact that my weight was disrupting my daily functions. I couldn’t keep up with my son, who was three years old at the time. I was self-conscious and didn’t even take pictures. I saw people who were starting to lose weight in media like Instagram and I thought it was also possible for me.
How long did your transformation take?
Over the course of about three years, I lost more than 100 pounds by maintaining a calorie deficit with my eating habits, eating clean, and exercising.
How did you change your eating habits?
I stopped drinking soda and eating snacks. Then I tried products like Herbalife. Finally, I found myself in a good space with a diet high in protein and low in carbohydrates. I also kept my calories below 1200 per day.
What did your exercise routine consist of?
I love HIIT workouts, circuit style workouts, and weight training. At least five times a week, I work at night and go to the gym every morning.

I started this journey at 311 pounds, and currently weigh 207 pounds.

I have 5’3 ″.
What is the biggest lesson you have learned so far?
The best lesson I learned is that this journey is not easy. You will have to change your life to get results.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My best advice for someone who wants to lose weight is GET STARTED! No matter how small the first step you take, just start. Investigate and don’t give up.
