Berlin: Borussia Dortmund winger Julian Brandt is facing a race to be fit for the round of 16 of the German Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain after the club confirmed his ankle injury on Sunday.

The 23-year-old was replaced at halftime by the 4-3 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, making his team third in the Bundesliga.

Dortmund said Brandt had torn ligaments and would miss the home game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday.

You haven't said whether the German international will be fit for the first leg of the Champions League on February 18 at PSG.

Dortmund is already without captain Marco Reus, who suffered a leg injury at Werder Bremen last month.
