The world needs some positivity, wittiness and humour to get going in the darkest coronavirus phase that has taken countries across the globe by storm. Entertainment personalities have been playing their part to spread awareness and good vibes amongst people. From Pakistani singers to American musicians and other places, artists have been hosting online concerts in their homes and making them accessible to their fans everywhere. Bollywood stars have also been contributing in their own little way. Kartik Aaryan has gone the extra mile in spreading awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic. First there was a monologue of his that went viral and now he has shared a meme referring to the 21-day complete lockdown in India.
The actor photoshopped himself in a still from the 2006 comedy film Phir Hera Pheri and mentioned that people want to hear that their money will be doubled in 21 days, which is the only way they take the lockdown order seriously and understand the need for social distancing and quarantine. In Phir Hera Pheri, Akshay Kumar’s character Raju fools people by saying their money will be doubled in 21 days and that is how he gets them to invest in a ponzi scheme.
Kartik swapped Akshay’s face for his in the meme. He wrote, “Modi ji, people will not listen like this. They want to hear that their money will get doubled in 21 days. (The people won’t listen to your speech unless you tell them you can double their money in 21 days).” Earlier the actor had gone viral on social media with a monologue asking people to practice social distancing in time of Coronavirus outbreak. The video has also received applause from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. Thanking him, Kartik tweeted, “Thank you Narendra Modi Sir. Will keep reminding everyone garmiyon ki chhuttiyan nahin chalu ho gayi hain (Summer holidays have not started yet) #CoronaStopKaroNa!” The monologue saw the actor in a rant similar to his Pyar Ka Punchnama character, his first breakthrough performance in Bollywood.
