The pilot of the doomed Kobe Bryant helicopter left an 11-year-old friend who "will never finish" his death, said a close friend.
Ara Zobayan – the regular pilot of the NBA legend and one of the nine fatalities on Sunday – devoted himself to 47-year-old friend Tess Davidson and her two sons "an adoptive father in every way," Jesse Clark told DailyMail.com.
"Tess will never be over it. That was the influence he had in their lives, ”Clark told the website, saying that they were“ everything a married couple is, ”even though they weren't married.
"He loved Tess beyond measure. That's the saddest part, "Clark said of the pilot who crashed in Calabasas in thick fog.
"Anyone Ara has touched in his life, I guarantee he will suffer," said Clark, whose wife Deborah flew from Oregon to Los Angeles to take care of her surviving friend.
Although the 50-year-old Zobayan was not as famous as the big tires, he was "no different from Kobe" because he was "a guy who puts a smile on your face," Clark said.
"He was a role model for every man I hope is his age," said the 37-year-old friend. "He's the guy you just wish the world was infected with."
Zobayan died along with all those on board his Sikorsky S-76B, including 41-year-old Bryant and 13-year-old daughter Gianna. College baseball coach John Altobelli, daughter Alyssa Altobelli and wife Keri Altobelli were also killed; Mother Sarah Chester and her 13-year-old daughter Payton Chester; and girls basketball coach Christina Mauser.
