New Jersey is using National Bagel Day to make a statement: when it comes to bagels, New Jersey is the place to go. I'm sorry, New York, but Garden State is claiming the title of "world capital of bagel."
The official Twitter account for New Jersey posted a text art image of the state contour, with the center full of images of bagels. Below, they captioned the image "capital of the bagel of the world," followed by the hashtag for National Bagel Day.

Another user joked, "I dive my bagels in the Delaware River every day."

"There is a certain level where a bagel can't be better, let's call it bagel peak" explained another user. “You can get the bagel in random places throughout the country (the owner of the store is usually from the east coast). But, you can NEVER get the bagel spike on a chain or anywhere slightly rural. "
Of course, not everyone agreed, with a new Jersian not user responding, "New York will always be the world capital of bagel!"
As expected, another user replied: writing"Sounds like something an Ohio native who lives in New York would say."
