The video went viral and people made guesses. Some said it could be an alien as seen on the popular television show Stranger Things.

The clip was later posted on YouTube.

One YouTube user called it the "3-eye fish" from the "Simpsons" opening credits, while another wrote that the "next low-budget film" will be about the creature.

However, the puzzle was solved by experts from the Ocean Conservation Trust, UNILAD reported.

Marcus Williams, a charity marine expert, said the marine animal was identified as "a kind of Elasmobranch" or a kind of cartilaginous fish like sharks, rays, or skates.

The report added that it is indeed difficult to identify the animal, since "only 5 percent" of the ocean has been explored to date. However, the organization's experts were certain that they resembled an "underdeveloped skate".

The likelihood that the creature is a skate has also been suggested by several internet users. Many said that the sea creature was simply an "ordinary clear-skate" that folded its wings to protect it.
