Langar, a community dinner, was prepared in Shaheen Bagh, New Delhi, on Wednesday for people who have been protesting the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) for a month.

The langar was prepared in Shaheen Bhagh when people with pots came in to prepare food for a large number of people in Shaheen Bagh who protested the CAA and the NRC.

Women made rotis (bread) and some Sikh men made kheer (dessert) in a large jar.

A Twitter handle – Shaheenbaghofficial / @ Shaheenbaghoff1 – wrote: "The women of Shaheen Bagh, who made & # 39; Kadha Prasad & # 39; as a Sikh delegation, joined the protest today at eight in the morning."

Punjab demonstrators, including members of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan), attended the meeting in Shaheen Bagh on Wednesday, where people, mainly women from the minority community, demonstrated against the CAA and the NRC.

In the meantime, traffic movement in the area has been affected for about a month now, as protesters occupy much of the street.

The Kalindi Kunj line, an important line between Delhi and Faridabad and Noida, has been closed since December 15 last year due to demonstrations against CAA and NRC.

Several commuters using this road had to use alternative routes such as the Delhi-Noida-Delhi (DND) Expressway and the Ashram.
