The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation names streets in Mumbai after well-known personalities from the city and the Surinder Kapoor Chowk is the newest of them.

In Chembur, a suburb in northeast Mumbai, the late producer Surinder Kapoor and his wife raised their four children: Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Reena Marwah and Sanjay Kapoor.

Sonam Kapoor, his eldest grandchild, published pictures of the event and wrote: “At the unveiling of the Chowk, named after my grandfather, SURINDER KAPOOR. With my amazing loving and crazy family. Love you all … missed some of you … & # 39;

Arjun Kapoor, his eldest grandson, said: “He came to this city with my grandmother without knowing what the future holds for him. He may have been an outsider in this industry, but he has made his way from being an assistant in Mughal e Azam to continuing to produce his heritage and family name through his children and grandchildren … a thank you to everyone in Chembur for this to realize, our family is trying to entertain you all because my grandfather got this job today. We are privileged and may have a well-known surname, but for our family he started in Mumbai with my grandfather Surinder Kapoor. & # 39;
