Taapsee Pannu in the "Thappad" trailer

Thappad shows Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati in leading roles as husband and wife. The film is directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Anubhav. Thappad also marks the reunification of Taapsee with Anubhav after their first successful film Mulk (2018).

Anubhav directed Article 15 after Mulk and Taapsee also saw their films successfully at the box office in 2019 – Badla, Mission Mangal, Saand Ki Aankh – and the next film by the director-actor duo, Thappad, is eagerly awaited by the fans. The trailer of the film was released on Friday. Thappad shows that a woman has to leave her husband after being beaten by him at a party.

The synopsis is: Thappad is a relationship story of Amrita (Taapsee), whose seemingly perfect life is shattered at one stroke. But is one blow enough to question what a relationship stands for? Should a blow shake their confidence or is a Thappad & # 39; Bas Itni Si Baat & # 39; (a little something)?

The character of Amrita encompasses human emotions in all forms and Taapsee provides different moods when placed in different situations. It is bubbly but slightly angry, while Thappad also examines the taboo of divorce and the question of whether women should always compromise in a marriage.

Taapsee also launched Thappad's trailer during the fourth international T20 game between India and New Zealand. Thappad released February 28th.
