In an emotional moment that was taped, a Texas father could hear his son's heartbeat 15 months after his death.

Jordan Spahn lost his 21-year-old son Matthew in a traffic accident in 2018. The boy was hit by a vehicle on the way home and fought for his life in the hospital for 10 days before he succumbed to his injuries.

After his death, his organs, skin and tissues saved several lives.

The recipient of the heart of 21-year-old Matthew was 54-year-old Kristi Richard Russ. After the transplant, Jordan and Kristi met and the father was given the opportunity to hear his son's heartbeat again.

The emotional encounter was shared by Summer Mossbarger on Facebook, where she asked everyone to think about organ donation.

According to a Houston-based news channel KHOU, Jordan said it was "almost like seeing Matthew again". He was glad that he knew that his son's heart was still beating.

A year after the heart transplant, Kristi didn't know who gave her the second shot, but is extremely grateful after the revelation. She said it was Matthew's heart in her body and added that she would be available at any time if the Spahn wanted to hear him.
