When I came into this industry, I had no family background and not a single person from my family was related to the entertainment industry, says Saumya.

Mumbai: Actress Saumya Tandon says it is not helpful to be connected to the industry or to come from a family associated with Showbiz in order to rise to the top of the entertainment industry.
She says only talent can advance a person in the field.
“Different people have different stories and I can only speak for myself. When I came into this industry, I had no family background and not a single person from my family was related to the entertainment industry. When I came to Mumbai, I came with work at hand, but I didn’t know a single soul in the city, “Saumya said in a statement.
Saumya who plays Anita Bhabhi in & TVs Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, added: “The only thing that has brought me forward in my life is my talent. However, I would say if I was connected to the industry or had a surname, would I do better? Maybe who knows.
“But I feel that talent is only in your control of what you can work on and develop, so I would tell anyone who wants to be in the industry to focus on talent because everything others Like your last name, your connections, or perhaps your appearance, is something you cannot control.
“For me, talent comes first and the other factors could only help.”
Plus actress Farnaz Shetty, who can be seen on the TV show Waaris, added: “When I first entered the industry, I initially felt that the most important thing was how you looked and what talent you had, but I found that hard work and perseverance were important.
“As for the name, connections are an added benefit. There are many successful people in the entertainment industry who have no sponsor or name to support them.”
Agnifera Star Yukti Kapoor says, “Family or sources will only really help if you have the talent.”
“It all depends on how talented you are, and industry connections can help give your talent a little boost,” Yukti said.
