Actress Richa Chadha believes the coronavirus pandemic is creating the best and worst in people, and she says it’s time to get together and help.
“This epidemic brings out the worst in people and the best in people. They have people who go out of their way to care for animals and people, and then there are some people who take this as an opportunity. Treat the poor badly,” Richa said to IANS.
Richa then cited the example of the 3,000 stranded migrants from various parts of India who crowded at Bandra train station on Tuesday demanding that they be given a means of transportation to return home immediately.
In attempting to control such a large amount, the Mumbai police resorted to a mild fee when parts threatened to get out of control.
She said, “Well, these poor migrant workers gathered in Bandra and Surat and people criticize them that they could have led to community transmission. But the thing is, these are people who are helpless and no other means have to come home and this is the time to get together and help. I really hope that people will make sense of this (epidemic) and make behavior changes. “
