Paul "Triple H" Levesque made a public apology on Wednesday after making lewd comments about WWE star Paige that sparked outrage on Twitter.
The former wrestler, executive vice president of talent, live events and creative at WWE since 2013, spoke earlier this week about Edge and Paige – two superstars whose careers have been hit by neck injuries.
"When you talk about talented people like Edge, Paige, who don't want them to come back, I'm a fan like everyone else." Triple H said back then. "I would like to see them get into the ring and compete against each other. More importantly, I would love it if they lived a long, healthy life. Edge has children, Paige – maybe – she probably has some she doesn't know about. "
The comments were particularly harsh as Paige's life was shaken by a sex tape scandal.
"Even my boss jokes about me … no wonder you still do it" Paige tweeted.
Soon the locks opened and commentators spoke in favor of Paige while chastising Triple H for his choice of words.
"Didn't think it could be bad … but holy crap, I'm so sorry he said that. It's not a joke, the intent and what he suggested was terrible. You have good ones Fans you really love. Please take care of your family and not negativity. You said 2020 is yours. " A fan replied,
"That was disappointing from HHH and lacked class" another posted,
"This is Bullen-t. Nothing to say about anyone, I thought better of HHH. " A commentator was shared,
Triple H said Wednesday that he contacted Paige to apologize for the "terrible joke".
