Verizon Media recently announced the appointment of Rathi Murthy as the company's chief technology officer.
Rathi, based in Sunnyvale, CA, will oversee Verizon Media's global technology strategy and lead the company's continued innovation in 5G, advertising and content, trading and subscriptions.
Rathi is widely recognized as a transformative technology manager, moving from Gap, where she was CTO, to Verizon Media. She leads all technologies and processes – including 2,500 employees – across the company's brand portfolio. Prior to that, Rathi was in a senior position at American Express for technology development for prepaid and alternative payments when the company expanded globally. Rathi was also a senior engineer on eBay and Yahoo.
Under the leadership of Rathi, Verizon Media will continue to take advantage of the 5G revolution and deliver 5G-based innovations that change content and the trading experience for consumers, partners and advertisers.
