You can now back up your WhatsApp chats to your iPhones using Touch ID or Face ID.
With the aim of protecting the messages on the iPhone from prying eyes, Facebook's own messaging app WhatsApp introduced the Touch ID and Face ID functions on the devices on Tuesday.
"At WhatsApp, private messaging is very important to us, and we're excited to introduce Touch ID and Face ID on iPhone today to prevent anyone from taking your phone and reading your messages," the company said.
To enable the feature in WhatsApp, iPhone users need to go to Settings, Account and Privacy, then activate the screen lock and activate Touch ID or Face ID.
You have the option to set the amount of time after which the Touch ID or Face ID should be queried after closing WhatsApp, the company added.
The data protection function was introduced for users of iPhone 5s and newer models as well as for iOS 9 OS and higher.
