Xiaomi’s television program in India is popular for a number of reasons, including good value for money, intelligent features and connectivity at affordable prices. The most expensive televisions in the company’s range are the Mi TV 4X and the Mi TV 4 Pro, which are considered the best televisions in the affordable segment. Xiaomi’s Mi-TV models, however, always lacked a large function that gave competitors such as Vu and LG a major advantage – Dolby Vision HDR. A new report now suggests that Xiaomi could come into play with its first Dolby Vision television.
According to a Gizmochina report, a Xiaomi official released details of a new television that has received Dolby Vision certification. The TV’s model number is L65M5-OD, which indicates that the TV will have a 65-inch OLED panel, while the “M5” suggests that it could be part of the Mi TV 5 series, the end was introduced in China last year. No further details are currently known about this upcoming TV, including features, pricing, or launch date.
Xiaomi’s existing television program mainly consists of affordable televisions. All variants in India are equipped with inexpensive LED panels. The current range, including recent product launches such as the Mi TV 4X series, only supports the HDR10 format for high dynamic range content. With Dolby Vision, Xiaomi can offer better picture quality with high-end content, including many films and TV shows available through streaming services such as Netflix and Apple TV.
